Ray Reckseidler: 9 Years of Service to Community Futures East Parkland
Community Futures East Parkland is proud to recognize Ray Reckseidler for his nine years of dedicated service on the Board of Directors.
Ray joined the Board in 2016, representing the Villages of Delburne and Elnora, along with Red Deer County. Throughout his time with CFEP, he brought a unique and valuable perspective shaped by his background as a retired educator, former municipal official, and active community volunteer.
Over the years, Ray contributed thoughtful insight, particularly in areas related to municipal governance and rural community development. His experience helped strengthen the Board’s understanding of how local governments and economic development efforts intersect, ensuring CFEP remained closely connected to the communities it serves.
In his remarks during the honorarium presentation, Ray reflected on the importance of Community Futures as a federal program supporting rural economic development across Canada. He spoke about the value of the organization not only as a funding resource, but also as a provider of business training, advice, and support for entrepreneurs.
Ray also shared how much he appreciated the opportunity to work alongside fellow Board members, noting the diverse range of experience around the table. While many came from business backgrounds, Ray was proud to contribute his municipal and community-focused perspective.
“ It was very enjoyable. I met a lot of wonderful people from across Central Alberta,” he shared.
CFEP extends its sincere thanks to Ray for his years of service, leadership, and commitment to the region. His contributions have helped support local businesses, strengthen communities, and advance economic development throughout East Parkland.
Following Ray’s completion of his term, we were pleased to welcome his son, Jason Reckseidler, who has joined the Board as a new representative director.
